Walking Around San Diego Walking North, East, South, & West from The Cottage:

Walk two miles to the southeast to reach Balboa Park. Walking through Balboa Park you will find The Old Globe Theater, museums, gardens, restaurants and relaxation. Continue your walk past the botanical garden and the fountains through Spanish Village, a community of artists, toward the San Diego Zoo.

Walk three miles south to reach the Gaslamp District on your way to the Convention Center, Seaport Village and the Embarcadero.  You will discover the Star of India, the Midway and unusual vessels in the Maritime Museum. Stop to eat at the Fish Market or in Seaport Village.  

The “Urban Trees” along San Diego Bay will treat you to an unusual public art project.

Walk west two miles to Old Town. You could continue on to Sea World along the San Diego River.

Walk a few blocks north to the medical center of San Diego county where Scripps Mercy Hospital and UCSD Medical Center are located.
